Another weekend of over 90% clearance across the Jellis Craig network, slightly above the Victorian rate of 86% for a very healthy volume of 903 scheduled auctions.
After Labour Day we have three clear weekends to auction until Easter, hence why we’re seeing a healthy amount of stock hitting the market last week, this week and next with a rush to sell before Easter.
But it’s still not enough to quell all this demand!
Real estate is a momentum game – activity begets more activity. Strong results entice vendors to market and creates urgency with buyers.
Public auctions and sold stickers on boards get the attention of those passive neighbours. “Maybe now is good time to sell?”
There’s no escaping our human nature… Social proof, herd mentality, reinforced by the media and more and more strong results. It’s self perpetuating.
